Picnic: July 5th at Packington

The sun shone on us on Sunday! We'd had a celebration for the last meeting of Sunday Club for this term and prize giving followed for the members of the Club.

Then it was outside for a picnic and games. These photos will perhaps give a flavour of a good and happy time together.

As well as enjoying ourselves, this was also part of the 'Feet First' campaign being run by the Leprosy Mission. During the service we watched a DVD about the work of the Leprosy Mission

Imagine you live in rural Mozambique and have no feeling in your feet because of leprosy. Imagine a sharp stone grazing your foot as you walk barefoot, and imagine being simply unaware of the wound. Imagine being told that your leg is so badly infected that it will need to be amputated. All because of a small cut, your world falls apart. You cannot walk, work or care for yourself. Feet First will also provide agricultural training so that people affected by leprosy can learn sustainable farming methods, and micro-credit so that they can buy the items they need to sell their produce.

Many thanks to those who gave to this good cause. We're sending £175 to the Leprosy Mission from this event. Most of that was Gift Aided so 25% will be added to that figure and then the government will double the figure. So a good result.
