October ready Steady Stick - how it went

Ready Steady Stick in October: how it went

This October half term we had a trio of Ready Steady Stick events, spread over the course or two weeks due to the different half term holidays in different schools. We held events in Appleby, Measham and Packington all of which had a good turn out and over the three events we had a total 42 children along with their accompanying adults! Each of the events had a slightly different feel but fun was had at all. We looked at the story of the prodigal son, acted out with a dash of humour by some of our volunteers. We sang a couple of new songs before moving onto the all-important crafts. We made wallets from felt, piggy biscuits, party hats and made a start on poppies in preparation for Remembrance Day.

A particular high light for me was at the end of one of the sessions, when an excited small voice was heard telling mum that ‘they are doing another one in December!’.
