Palm Sunday: April 14th

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, the most important week in the whole Christian calendar. We remember that Jesus rode into Jersualem, into a city crowded with pilgrims there for the feast of the Passover. He rode on a donkey, the sign of humility, not on a great war horse He was greeted by crowds who shouted his praises, believing he was the one who would defeat the occupying Roman forces and set them free. He rode into a city full of political intrigue

Jesus rode in knowing that he was riding to his death, that the applause would soon change to chanting for his crucifixion. Yet for love of us, he was content to do what he knew he was called to do.

We'll be exploring more of Palm Sunday in our services at:

9.30 am Morning Prayer at Normanton

11am     Holy Communion at Packington
