Experience Pentecost at Normanton

Experience Pentecost at Normanton

Even at the small church of Holy Trinity, we experienced Pentecost. At the family service on Pentecost Sunday, we thought about how the disciples had to wait for the promised gift of the Holy Spirit; what it feels like to wait and yet we can hold to Jesus' promise that he will never abandon us. Using the symbol of the dove for the Holy Spirit, we remembered his promise for us today.

And we remembered how the first disciples rushed out to tell evryone they could about the good news of Jesus' love; we thought about the Holy Spirit as a flame of fire. 3000 people joined the new Christian church that first Pentecost, but just as amzing is how the flame of the good news has travelled down through over 2000 years to us. Who first told you of God and his love? We gave thanks for those who have told us, and committed to telling others as we lit candles.

If you'd like to visit these displays, then the church is open on Saturdays and the displays will be there until 27th May
