Creating Easter gardens

And the ever popular junk modelling!

Then it was into church to follow the Easter story with the aid of a tiny mouse.

Our Easter Ready Steady Stick was really special as children came and enjoyed listening and exploring the story of Easter.

The children were given the chance to experience this Special story through a series of scenes set up in church. Through seeking the hidden white mice the children followed in the footsteps of Jesus which showed His journey from the triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, through the events of Holy Week to the empty tomb on Easter Sunday.

The exploring of the Easter story continued in the church hall with fun craft activities which helped the children to create the Story for themselves.

While some were busy with scratch art crosses others had eggs they were decorating. Busy hands on another table created the Easter Story , hands of red, yellow and blue, smiles and chatter produced the an Easter Banner that can be seen in the church.

Some great junk modelling was created as always, it's amazing what the Ready Steady Stick Bunch can make with a couple of cereal boxes, a few yogurt pots, sticky tape and a large amount of  imagination. At another table Easter Gardens were carefully designed and made using different types of materials and shrubs.

As ever the food table very popular and making Easter cake nests with chicks and mini eggs was a great attraction.

Many more crafts were available and enjoyed by both children and adults as were the refreshments and songs.

The happy smiles and chatter from all suggested that Ready Steady Stick had indeed been Special!

The next Ready Steady Stick will be in the May half term
