So now we are in the 3rd National Lockdown

Under the 3rd National Lockdown,  places of worship could remain open.  However with the current local very high infection rates, ther Church Councils have suspended Sunday worship for 3 weeks: 17th, 24th and 31st January. It is hoped that infection rates will fall thanks to the Lockdown and we will then re-open. The decision involved much careful discussion and much heartache and was not made easily.

Funerals can be attended by a maximum of 30 people, and it is advised that only close friends and family attend. Linked ceremonial events such as stone settings and ash scatterings can also continue with up to 15 people in attendance. Anyone working is not included. Social distancing should be maintained between people who do not live together or share a support bubble.

What does this mean for us?

  1. Sunday worship:  Sunday services are in operation but not in every church in the Team every Sunday so check the calendar on this site
  2. Private prayer:  Packington Church is open from 9am - 3pm on Wednesdays private prayer. Measham, Donisthorpe and Appleby Churches are open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays between 10am and 4pm for private prayer. Normanton Church is not open for private prayer
  3. Funeral services: the churches will both be open for funeral services now but with a limit of 25 mourners in our case (as at the crematorium numbers have to be limited). Regulations will apply in that no singing is allowed at the present time and social distancing applies in terms of seating.

Our audio services and twice monthly Zoom services will continue for now

I will add updates as and when I know more but do feel free to contact me if you have questions: woodfieldteamrector@gmail.com or 01530 270354.
